Interview Mantra has been moved from Blogger to WordPress

by Sridhar Jammalamadaka on December 15, 2009

Finally Interview Mantra has been released from the ugly clutches of buggy Blogger. Interview Mantra is now proudly powered by the best blogging platform in the world, WordPress.

Have a look around the site and check out the new features of wordpress implemented in Interview Mantra.

Here is a list of few features I liked in wordpress that pressed me to move Interview Mantra from Blogger to WordPress:

  • Interview Mantra now has its posts categorized into categories such as Interview Experiences, Interview Tips etc,.
  • As an editor of this blog, with wordpress, I can chose from plethora of features related to blog posts editing. The syntax highlighter wordpress plugin makes my life easy in posting articles on C Interview Questions that usually contain program code.
  • I no longer have to manually tweak my blogger template to add meta description and keyword tags for each of my blog posts. I now use the powerful and integrated, all in one SEO pack.
  • The Google Analytics wordpress plugin that I use, automatically ignores the clicks from me. It has a neat option to ignore admin statistics. So I can now take the Google Analytics stats of Interview Mantra seriously as they don’t include my test hits.
  • I no longer have to bother about the proprietary blogger xml format they use in blogger templates. I can well understand the technologies that wordpress uses:  php and MySQL.
  • Comment system in wordpress is far better than the esoteric and rigid Blogger comment system.
  • WordPress gives me the ability to post static pages. See Interview Mantra’s contact page and about us page.
  • WordPress plans needs hosting space to run. I now host all the javascripts, css and images displayed/used in this blog. This helps in faster loading of pages.
  • The users feature in wordpress is highly helpful to me. WordPress allows a classification of subscriber, contributor, author, administrator. This gives me a high flexibility to manage guest posts.
  • WordPress allows complete control over permalinks. I can choose what should be displayed in the permalink. Blogger permalink is messy and annoying.
  • WordPress themes are friendlier and easier to use than their blogger coutner parts. A good blogger theme is difficult to find. Blogger themes are not as customizable as that of wordpress.
  • The countless wordpress plugins for comments, posts and adsense give powerful features that could never be imagined on blogger.

This list is still not comprehensive. The features and advantages of wordpress over blogger are innumerable.

I hope that I would be able to deliver useful content to you in a better manner using this new blogging platform.
