Using Google Docs Template for Resume

Use google docs for resume Google docs has come up with a great feature called Template Gallery where you can choose from a public gallery of ready made templates for creating a document / presentation / spreadsheet. Pretty much similar to Microsoft word templates.

I came across few templates for resumes. These Google templates are a great way to get your resume built quickly. There are a lot of resume templates to choose from in Google docs public gallery.

I was particularly impressed by an elegant template for Resume called Circles Resume. Go to that template’s preview page, use that template and create a new Google doc. Edit this document and fill your resume details.

Few of the plethora of advantages of having your resume on Google docs are:

  • You can have a copy of your resume online- browse it from anywhere, anytime. No hassle of losing it when you format your hard disk, no fuss of maintaining multiple versions of your resume in email.
  • You can collaborate with your friends or co-workers to build your resume in real time. Invite your friends with Google account to edit your resume, you can remove the edit permission anytime youw ant.
  • You can share a copy of your Google docs resume with read only permission to your future employer.
