Donts while negotiating salary in a job interview

You first apply for a post in a company, take the job interview and clear all the interview rounds. Then this HR manager contacts you either on phone or in person to talk about your salary requirements.

This is when you negotiate with the HR about your salary. The first and the only question that the HR asks you is “How much are you expecting?”.

99% of people would simply tell their salary expectation without thinking much. Do you think the HR manager honestly tells you that your quotation is below what the company has got to offer? Absolutely not. The HR would be more than happy to know that your quotation is lower than what they can offer. He/she would simply close the deal by offering you a little more than what you asked for.

You go home happily. But you are missing those 1% chances of getting better pay. Many a time, the HR would intimidate you to give your quotation, he/she might sound tough as if they are going to keep the offer with them. Then, how would you deal this negotiation and cut the best deal?

Watch this video that tells you the rest of the story on how to negotiate in a job interview.
